Jakarta Provincial Government will not add the road ratio. It has been decided that sidewalk widening project is part of programs for overcoming traffic jam.

We have appropriate macro design, six inner city toll roads, and two outer ring roads

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama, said macro road design in Jakarta is already appropriate. It will be added with six inner city toll roads.

“We have appropriate macro design, six inner city toll roads, and two outer ring roads. That’s enough for us,” he said, Tuesday (10/18).

He added that his side prefers to provide mass transportation to overcome traffic jam. Adding road ratio without improving public transport is result-less.

At this time, sidewalk widening project has been started such as at Jalan Jati Baru and in front of Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. Next targets are sidewalk at Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin.
